Housing - Neighborhood Revitalization Act

NRA is a property tax rebate in a designated area that would otherwise
be paid on the actual value added to a property by improvements. The
rebate only applies to the additional taxes resulting from the increase
in the assessed value of the property due to the improvements.

Kansas Housing Resources Corporation - First Time
Home Buyers (updated
March 2010)
This program provides down payment assistance for the purchase of a
first home - must be qualified Kansas buyers with incomes at or below 80
percent of median income in their area.
Topeka Habitat for Humanity
(updated March 2010)
To qualify for a home, individuals must meet certain income guidelines
and demonstrate the ability to pay a $500 monthly mortgage payment (no
more than 30% of gross household income).
USDA Rural Development Direct Loan
(updated June 2010)
The USDA Rural Development Direct Loan program provides loans to low,
very low and moderate income homeowners in rural communities.
Programs include:

Direct Housing
Loans (income limits - available only to low and very low income
applicants)

Guaranteed Rural Housing Loans
(income limits but no loan limits - available to low, very low and
moderate income applicants)

Home Repair Financing (can
assist applicants in the very low income category obtain needed
repairs to the home at 1%. Applicants 62 yrs of age or older,
with little or no repayment ability, may be eligible for a grant up
to $7,500 or a loan-grant combination.)
