One-on-one counseling is available by phone, in-person, or online from HCCI offices in Topeka, Lawrence and Manhattan.   Education Programs are offered in schools, for community groups and in partnership with a wide variety of homeless and employment programs. Publications are available directly from HCCI as well as from most libraries in the state.

Over 10,000 Kansans are served annually. Highlights include surpassing $4.3 million paid to creditors in 2006 alone, publication of Kansas Tenants Handbook and Kansas Landlords Handbook, and achieving national accreditation in 1998. New initiatives include establishing a prototype Rural First-time Homebuyer Counseling and Training Program, a pilot program called "Strategies for Success" for Rescue Mission guests, and the Homeless to Housed Program in Lawrence.

HCCI is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Funding comes from a mix of private sector, public sector, client contributions and fundraising. All of our contributors, as well as information on the number of clients served are included in our 2010 Annual Report.

HCCI is a member agency of the United Ways of Greater Topeka, Douglas County, Riley County and the Flint Hills, is certified by HUD as a Comprehensive Housing Counseling Agency, is a member agency of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling, and is fully accredited by the Council on Accreditation.
